Rural Development Society Registration Process Simplified
The Department of Rural Development, Central Province, has introduced a simplified registration process for rural development societies to encourage more communities to participate in development activities.
New Registration Requirements
To register a rural development society, the following documents are now required:
- Completed application form (available at Divisional Secretariats)
- List of founding members (minimum 15 members)
- Proposed constitution of the society
- Letter of recommendation from Grama Niladhari
- Minutes of the inaugural meeting

Application Process
Step 1: Gather required documents
Step 2: Submit application to Divisional Rural Development Office
Step 3: Preliminary verification (5 working days)
Step 4: Site inspection by officers
Step 5: Final approval and registration certificate
